What type of apparel does Le Thrift accept?
Le Thrift Consignment Boutique accepts only designer and top name-brand clothing and accessories. Click HERE for a link to see examples of designer and mid-tier brands we carry. At this time, we only carry men and women items that are fashion related.
Clothing and accessories must be authentic, clean and in excellent condition. Style of apparel must be within trend unless categorized as vintage. Vintage items must be at least 15 years old. Cost to repair or dry clean items will be deducted from total sale of item.
Consignment Appointment Preparation
It helps the consignment process to bring your items in pre-cleaned, folded neatly or hung. Make sure you are bringing in the brands we carry and fashion that is in season. If it is vintage, we look for items that are well made and are made of natural fibers like silk, cotton, linen, wool and fur.
New and overstock items must also be in excellent shape and clean. All consigned apparel must be free of stains, unraveling, holes or any other defects.
Accepted Items
Le Thrift at any time has the right to reject any submissions of apparel that is in inferior condition or will not be able to be sold online or in our boutique.
Le Thrift will decide what accepted items will be sold online and what items will be sold in our boutique, or both. Not all items will be sold online. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE PRODUCT IS UPLOADED TO WEB SITE.
We automatically inventory and sell your items at our boutique within 1-2 business days. We can provide an inventory sheet via email or a hardcopy. You can check in to see how sales of your items are doing and we will email you a PDF of the items that have sold and when.
How are my items priced?
Le Thrift sells your items that are priced competitively with the resale market. A general rule we follow with pricing is that if a garment still has the tags on it and is in immaculate condition we sell it 50% of the original sale price. If the item is in excellent condition and has been worn, we generally price it 40% of the original sale price. Le Thrift will generally have sales throughout the consignment period and has the right to mark down items up to 25% and sell on its affiliate sites.
When an items sells, Le Thrift keeps 60% of the sale and the consignor receives 40%.
What happens after Le Thrift sells my item(s)?
Le Thrift will notify you at the end of each quarter with which items sold and will cut a check. Checks are sent out on a quarterly basis. If you prefer, we can send the money to your PayPal account.
Any items that are not sold within the consignment period are either returned to you or donated to charity. Clothing is only kept 20 days after we send you an email and phone call to pick up. We have no storage, so we are unable to hold your clothing for more than 20 days after notification. We donate to Bridge to Success Charity and Catholic Charities - Mary's Closet in Chicago. Out of state consignors must pay for shipping for returned items.
