Breakfast at Tiffany's Event Wrap Up

Saturday, April 30th was our Annual Breakfast at Tiffany's Event with One Hope United sponsored by Mabél Guzman of @ Properties. This year had a fantastic turnout and we thank all those who came up to support National Child Abuse Awareness Month and One Hope United. The host committee to this years event was Brandis Friedman, Carmela Griffin, Jennaeth Markaj, Mabel Guzman, Ebony Edwards and Christine Sanderson.

This year we raised $1,417.29 for One Hope United from ticket sales and 10% of store sales from the event. Chicago Woman Magazine was gracious enough to cover the event and announce their exciting new plans for the magazine.

Many thanks to Punt N' Plume for generously pouring gourmet wines to our patrons and for The Breakfast Lounge serving mouth watering selections from their menu. The ladies at the event were also pampered with manicures by Raybella Nails and Notable Nails. 

The fashion show previewed spring looks that were Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired as well as some modern day looks. The show was styled by Lyndsay Camins of Styled Chicago. Make up and hair were done by Vee Rubio Makeup Artistry.

Other generous donors for the event were Yoga for All Beings, Chicago Candle Factory, Das Candy, Que Bella Masks, Burts Bees, Blowout Junkie, Cocktail Courier, Maria Pinto, Mashallah Jewelry, Ann Everett Designs, Sweet Lady Flan and Rock Candy Salon and Spa, & Styled Chicago.

You're Invited to a Breakfast at Tiffany's Event for One Hope United

This Saturday we are having our annual Breakfast at Tiffany's Event for One Hope United's Go Blue Campaign.

  
Le Thrift Consignment decided on using the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme because of the adoration of Audrey Hepburn and how she was such a big philanthropist before it was "trendy" to help others in Hollywood. Also, the "Tiffany blue" ties in with the theme of April and National Child Abuse Awareness Month.

The color blue represents a broken hearted Grandmother who in 1989 had found her Grandson beaten to death. She dedicated April as National Child Abuse month and tied a blue ribbon to the antenna of her vehicle to make others aware of child abuse in her community. That created a movement across the nation and now others wear a blue ribbon in April in memory of children who had lost their lives to child abuse.

Since its inception over 100 years ago, One Hope United has had a mission to provide children safe and loving homes on a local scale. Whether it be community-based, family support systems, placement into foster care homes, therapeutic residential facilities or early learning and child development centers. This organization makes a difference in these children's lives. Some of the other actions that One Hope United does is find donors to fulfill children's wishes for gifts every Christmas or supply them with backpacks filled with school supplies for back to school. Customers enjoyed 25% off the entire store, complimentary manicures and champagne, mimosas and sweet treats with a $10 donation.  Congratulations to Angelina for winning the raffle for Tiffany's earrings!
